| In the dune house in Victoria, Australia by Sean Godsell, each material is handled with great care and attention to its essential properties. Each calmly modulates space, making the whole house into a gigantic sundial that records the passage of time by patterns of shadows. The jury was impressed by the harmonious yet never eclectic mix of archetypes: Japanese, European and Anglo-Indian. The house is a remarkable and moving tribute to evolving Australian culture.
