| Jou Min Lin submitted two schools at the village of Nan Tou in the marvellous tropical landscape of rural Taiwan. The jury decided to look at them as one submission because they complement each other. The schools are carefully tailored to be spatially appropriate for the different ages of children they serve. They respond to locality with sensitivity. The jury was impressed by the schools appropriateness of scale for children of different ages, and by their tectonic and even heraldic qualities.
