| The congress centre at Murcia in south-east Spain by Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos is a generous contribution to urban life. It adds to an existing complex on the edge of the city and offers variable spaces for banquets, exhibitions and conferences. It responds to local climate (and indeed tradition) with ingenious use of courtyards that bring carefully controlled sun and daylight to the middle of the very deep plan.
